MGM Pictures Fun Fact: this movie was filmed during a time when Elvis received three messages that he would either be killed or kidnapped while performing at the International. ------------------------------------------------------------ In 1969 Elvis returned to the stage in Las Vegas. His engagement was matched by the highest attendance records ever in Vegas, he would return in 1970 to break his own record. It was while performing during his second engagement that MGM sent film crews to capture Elvis, live! Filming began over six shows an included fan comments and rehearsal footage from California and Las Vegas. In 2000 MGM re-released the film in a new Special Edition format, the result was incredible.

One of the film crew happened to be the young ambitious Martin Scorsese. ------------------------------------------------------------ Elvis Presley was, and is, the most dynamic performer to ever walk a stage. When Elvis walked out the fans went somewhere no other crowd has ever been. Some people have even been quoted that "when Elvis walked on stage, it was like God had just arrived". Elvis On Tour shows this incredible performer and his vocal best having the most fun on stage in his entire life. With commentary and background footage by and of Elvis, this film also brings a very personal feeling from Elvis to his fans. Although MGM debates a new special edition DVD, the original cannot escape high praise .This film also received an Oscar nomination for best documentary.
